Sibby's Cupcakes is located in San Mateo a little farther down than the main kind of downtown blocks but an easy walk. It's located in between a couple of car body shops and is a small inside. They do have some cupcakes for sale for walk-ins but there is no place to sit (it's VERY tiny 1 customer at a time) it seems like most of their business is for parties and larger orders.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere was very friendly from the staff but also the store was tiny with no place to sit down. Thankfully there is a park near by in San Mateo where you can take your cupcakes to eat! Definitely more of a pre-order for parties place. 2/5
I got the birthday cupcake as the closest to vanilla with vanilla frosting they had available at the time and they said their most popular flavors were either the red velvet or the seasonal chocolate chip cookie dough. I can't resist a seasonal flavor so I went with the chocolate chip!
Frosting: The birthday cake frosting was fine, I think the server said it was cream cheese based but the chocolate chip cookie dough was a little gritty with sugar- though I guess that's what home made cookie dough also kind of feels like when I eat mine! I wasn't really a fan of it in cupcake form though. 2/5
Cake: Unfortunately I didn't like the cake this time too much, it was a little dry even though there was a good flavor for both cupcakes and the amount of cake and frosting were proportional. 2/5

Price: The cupcakes worked out to about $5.25 per cupcake which isn't unreasonable but also I feel like at that price and experience I might not go back. 2//5
I've been here before and gotten takeaway cupcakes and they were better then so I'm wondering if I just happened to go on an off day for them. I'll probably be back at some point because they are close but they won't be my go-to cupcake place in the future.
