A Novel Affair

 

A Novel Affair is a new romance focused bookstore in Los Altos that I was very interested in visiting! Unfortunately this city isn't very accessible via public transit so a car is recommended though there is plenty of parking around the downtown area.

This is a small corner shop in the downtown Los Altos area. Like The Best Bookstore feels understandably very new and not very lived in yet. They have a sparse few tables for book displays of new books and trending topics (hockey romance had a prominent table with the Heated Rivalry series of books displayed!).

The shelves were all black and gave a good atmosphere with these gold plates for sub genres so you could easily find your preference. The largest section was of course Romantasy which is currently very trendy. 

About 1/3 of the store in the back was dedicated to romance focused 'bookish merch' like bookmarks, candles, shirts, stickers and other odds and ends. This seemed a popular section for the other customers there though I'm trying to cut down on merch purchases (especially candles- I have a weakness for candles!). 

Unfortunately while I do have a few romance focused books on my list I didn't find any of the titles in the store so I ended up leaving empty handed. 

I would recommend you stop by if your main genre of reading is romance of any stripe, it's a cute little store with a fun atmosphere!
