I was able to go to Banter Bookshop in Fremont recently!
This was a cute little bookstore located in a mixed use set of buildings. There were apartments above and different types of businesses down below. Parking wasn't great on the street but there were other stores nearby with large parking lots so parking wasn't too bad.
There are some flyers posted about local events including a bookstore hosted Silent Book Club https://silentbook.club/ ! I run the Redwood City chapter of Silent Book Club so I was happy to see the place where the Fremont one was hosted. (There are chapters in San Francisco, Burlingame and San Jose that I've visited!)
Right when you enter there was a puzzle that was partially completed so I stayed there until I was able to place a piece!
It was a little bit confusingly layed out but in the end I found the fantasy and sci fi section. They also had a separate shelf for "Cozy Fantasy" and "Romantacy" at the beginning of the fantasy section.
I picked up the first in a series I'm collecting, "A Natural History of Dragons" by Marie Brennan.
Overall this was a cute bookstore but unless I get a bee in my bonnet to go check out the silent book club hosted here it probably won't be worth it to drive here often. If you're in east bay close to Fremont I'd definitely go check it out though!
